Texans CB Robinson was fined $25,000 for conduct detrimental to the team

For wearing a pair of “pay me Rick” shoes during Sunday’s game, the Houston Texans cornerback Dunta Robinson will have to pay $25,000 to the team, because his conduct was considered to be “detrimental” to the team.

The shoes targeted general manager Rick Smith, who did not give Robinson a long-term contract despite signing his franchise tender more than a week ago. As starter in Sunday’s game against the New York Jets, Robinson failed to lead the team to a victory, partly because he had less than a week of practice before the game.

Robinson told reporters that he accepted the punishment and would pay the fine, but he would like to have talk with Smith about donating the money to a Boys and Girls Club or a needy family.
