Raiders WR Schilens did not return to field after missing six games

The Oakland Raiders wide receiver Chaz Schilens missed his seventh straight game on Sunday as he was inactive against the New York Jets. It was actually a predictable absence since he did not finish practice Friday because of soreness on his injured foot.

Because of the foot injury, Schilens has been out for all Chargers’ games this season by so far, but earlier reports said that he receiver would be able to seen in his Raiders jersey this week. The team was further weakened by absence of offensive linemen Robert Gallery, Cornell Green and Langston Walker, running back Darren McFadden, receiver Nick Miller and linebacker Ricky Brown. Their absence just made Raiders’ loss to the Jets also predictable.

Inactive Jets included receiver Jerricho Cotchery, receiver Brad Smith, cornerback Lito Sheppard, safety James Ihedigbo, linebacker Marques Murrell, quarterback Kevin O’Connell and offensive lineman Matt Slauson.
