The Washington Redskins running back Clinton Portis and defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth sat out Wednesday practice along with cornerback Carlos Rogers and fullback Mike Sellers. But according to Redskins coach Jim Zorn, the four injured are very likely to wear back redskins jerseys and play Sunday against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Portis has been nursing bone spurs in his ankles since he was kicked in the calf during last weekend’s loss to the Detroit Lions. And Haynesworth has a strained hip muscle. Rogers missed the practice with a slightly swollen ankle and Sellers has a bruised thigh muscle.
When Haynes was carted off the field in last weekend’s game against the Lions, the injury looked much more serious than Protis’. However, Coach Zorn still felt optimistic that all the four injured will play Sunday against the Buccaneers.
