Teammates expect Giants QB Manning to start on Sunday

After having an MRI on his right foot Monday, Eli Manning was officially listed as “day to day” with plantar fasciitis, an inflammation and swelling of the tissue on the bottom of the foot. However, either he himself or his teammate is confident that Manning will wear back giants jersey
and start his 83rd consecutive start on Sunday against the Oakland Raiders.

At an NFL community event at Lyndhurst High School on Tuesday, the New York Giants wide receiver Domenik Hixon said that he was confident Manning would be out there on the field by Wednesday. The same was said by guard Chris Snee, who also appeared at the NFL’s Play 60 event.

“Any time there’s an injury, you don’t want to downplay any situation,” said Snee, “But after talking with Eli, he’s pretty confident that he will be out there. … Knowing him and knowing how confident he is, I’m pretty sure he’ll be ready to play come Sunday. I think knowing he’s going to be ready makes us all feel better.”
