The Seattle Seahawks running back Julius Jones bruised lung during the first quarter of Sunday’s game against the Arizona Cardinals. And the injury will likely prevent him from wearing back his Seahawks jersey and playing this Sunday’s game against the Minnesota Vikings.
He did not fly back to Seattle with his teammates Sunday but stayed behind overnight in an Arizona hospital as a precaution.
“He’s OK,” Coach Jim Mora said. . “They just took the proper precautions in not having him travel with that injury. At this point, I would say it would be unlikely that he would be cleared to play on Sunday.”
Jones had only two carries before leaving the field because of the injury, and his replacement Justin Forsett finished the game with only 123 yards on just 17 carries. If Jones are not to play with the injury, Forsett may have to share the role with third-stringer Louis Rankin for next games.
