Finishing last season with a franchise-low 14 sacks, the Jacksonville Jaguars are determined to revamp the defensive line that did not work well even with different schemes, various blitzes and some new faces, so their first action to improve it is to get more quarterback pressure by adding a great defensive end.
That’s the background for the Jaguars to sign two-time Pro Bowl defensive end Aaron Kampman, who has finished all the last eight seasons in Green Bay Packers jerseys. The 30-year-old defensive end signed with the Jaguars on Sunday, giving the small-market franchise a big-time boost to their pass-rush woes.
The Jaguars targeted Kampman and former Tennessee Titans DE Kyle Vanden Bosch even before the free agency began on Friday. While Bosch has signed a four-year contract worth $26 million with the Detroit Lions, the Jaguars made their choice without hesitation to sign Kampman, who is a year younger than Vanden Bosch but finished 2009 season with half a sack more than Vanden Bosch.

Packers QB and WR will probably both play Sunday after suffering injuries
The Green Bay Packers do not plan to give quarterback Aaron Rodgers more time to rest his sprained toe and expect him to play against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday after he seemed pretty well after Friday’s practice.
Coach Mike McCarthy said Rodgers was able to do everything in practice Friday and didn’t have limited mobility. Last Sunday’s 38-26 loss to the Minnesota Vikings seemed not to impact the coach’s plan of making full use of Rodgers. Regardless of the fact that the No.12 quarterback has been coping with a sprain in his feet for the past few weeks, McCarthy just keeps the quarterback playing game after game. He may originally to use Rodgers as a replacing weapon after Brett Favre left the Green Bay, but losses proved that the No. 12 quarterback is far from catching the quarterback always wearing No.4 NFL jersey in every team he plays for.
The Packers also expect veteran tackles Chad Clifton and Mark Tauscher to start Sunday’s game, and wide receiver Donald Driver is probable to return from his treatment for a neck injury.

Packers GM does not rule Michael Vick out
Green Bay Packers general manager Ted Thompson said on Tuesday that the team will not rule out the scandal-tainted quarterback Michael Vick. But since Thompson is notoriously coy about the team's plans, it is still hard to judge from his comments whether the team have a sincere and significant level of interest in giving Vick chance of wearing packers jersey.
"What is the answer that we give to questions like this? We're always looking to improve our team," Thompson said. "We look at all options at all times. I wouldn't care to speculate in terms of the odds or the percentages (of signing Vick) or anything like that."
Thompson admitted that Vick is in unique situation but the team will just evaluate him in the same routine of evaluting other players. No matter whether the Packers are really interested in Vick, they are the first team showing such stance in public after Vick was conditionally reinstated to the NFL.
