Cowboys LB Ware may still play this week after hurting neck

The Dallas Cowboys linebacker DeMarcus Ware was lucky enough not to be injured too seriously to play this Saturday night. While the team was scared last Sunday when the headfirst collision happened, now they are confident that they will not lose the linebacker for any of the remaining games

“He’s actually a lot better today,” Coach Wade Phillips said Monday. “He’s really in a day-to-day situation as far as where he’s going to be, as far as being able to play. He took quite a hit but has really bounced back strong. That’s encouraging for him and us.”

Ware got hurt in the fourth quarter of Sunday’s 20-17 loss to the Chargers, and on Monday the Cowboys described Ware’s injury as a strained muscle in his neck, and Coach Philips confirmed that Ware had no concussion-like symptoms, so it is very likely that the three-time Pro Bowl linebackers will wear back his Cowboys jersey to play against the New Orleans Saints this Saturday.
