Several Falcons starters remain questionable for Sunday game

The Atlanta Falcons Coach Mike Smith keeps fans optimistic that they will see quarterback Matt Ryan in his No.2 Falcons jersey playing this Sunday against the New Orleans Saints. Although the quarterback has missed all week’s practice, he is still listed as questionable, not ruled out, for Sunday’s game.

“Matt worked again this morning in our walk-through,” Smith said. “He continued to progress and we’re going to make a decision as we get closer to game time.”

Pro Bowl running back Michael Turner practiced Friday on limited base. Missing last week’s 34—7 home loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, Turner is also questionable for this week’s game, along with four other offensive starters including Pro Bowl receiver Roddy White, left tackle Sam Baker, center Todd McClure and right guard Harvey Dahl.

As starting cornerback Chris Houston was ruled out along with tight end Justin Peelle, right cornerback Brent Grimes will replace Houston and rookie Christopher Owens is expected to start on the left side to replace Grimes.
