It seems that the NFC team will have a better defense than the AFC team with more offensive stars. Well, as it matters little which team win, but to have some real stars on the roster will at least make us feel less distressed for buying tickets with purpose to watch stars but only to see nobodies all around the field.
I am not an Eagles fan, so I may know little about the team’s stars and have never noticed there is such a star safety who wears No. 27 Eagles jersey, Quintin Mikell. But I do have heard and read quite a lot about names like Jared Allen, Julius Peppers, DeMarcus Ware, Brian Orakpo and Clay Matthews. And Trent Cole, Asante Samuel, Terence Newman and Mike Jenkins are not just strangers to me. So it just sounds good if the defense have Allen and Peppers start at defensive end, Ware and Orakpo start at outside linebacker and Samuel start at cornerback along with Newman.
Other starters include interior linemen Darnell Dockett of the Cardinals and Jay Ratliff of Cowboys, inside linebacker London Fletcher from the Washington Redskins, free safety Nick Collins of the Packers and strong safety Adrian Wilson of the Cardinals, and Mikell is just a backup to Wilson.
Cole is to backup Allen and Peppers at quarterback, 49ers’ Justin Smith is to backup at interior lineman position, Matthews will cooperate with Ware and Orakpo at outside linebacker, Panthers Jon Beason will do similar job at inside linebacker. Other backups are cornerback Jenkins and free safety Antrel Rolle of the Cardinals.
