Knowing that a lot of people have put a lot of time and efforts in getting the New Orleans Saints into the playoff, star tight end Jeremy Shockey has made mind to avoid doing anything that may cause him to be kept out of the game against the Indianapolis Colts.
Even though he is still dealing with right knee soreness that has limited him in Saints’ two playoff games and kept him out of Thursday’s practice. And it seems that the Saints need him to be on the field in his No. 88 Saints jersey for the winning chance, as the team was 15-0 when Shockey played, but 0-3 when he was kept out. Furthermore, Shockey had four catches for 45 yards and a TD in two playoff games, having enough confidence to play in good condition for the Super Bowl game against the Colts.
Shockey made news last offseason by passing out, dehydrated, at a pool-side party in Las Vegas, making himself a non-stranger to the South Beach social scene. Being here again but for different purpose, Shockey said he has been “mature enough in this locker room to know how much is at stake.”
